Thank you for your support!
The Cooperative Gardens Commission is a project fiscally sponsored by the Experimental Farm Network Cooperative, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, PA.
The Cooperative Gardens Commission is working to increase community food production and food access nationally, now growing into international support hubs. Our primary aim is to connect those with food-growing resources — including seeds, soil, tools, equipment, land, labor, and knowledge — with those who lack such resources. In year 1 we sent free seeds to 257 seed hubs across 41 states, supplying 12,000 gardens in 2020. We have grown to over 400 local and regional hubs, reaching tens of thousands of people, we’ve distributed millions of free seeds (mostly donated by small-scale and organic seed companies). Up to this point, we’ve relied exclusively on unpaid volunteers, including some working almost full-time at our central seed hub in Philadelphia. But this situation is neither fair nor sustainable.
In order to continue this vital project, we need your help.
